Middleburg,
Florida is a growing community founded on the
banks of the beautiful Black Creek River. The mission of the Black
Creek Bowl Association (BCBA) is, through the coordination of local
athletic events, to increase positive public awareness of historic
Middleburg, its natural wonders, sports facilities and awesome people.
From
the proceeds of these events the BCBA will provide supplemental
college scholarships to deserving Middleburg High School college-bound
Seniors. One such student will receive the David White Memorial
Scholarship, an award created to honor Clay County Sheriff's Office
Detective David White. White (MHS Class of 95) was a Bronco
Band member, military veteran, husband, father and role-model. He
died in the line-of-duty in February 2012 while fighting crime in
his hometown. All recipients will be selected each year based on
their ability to meet application requirements, essay quality, need
and teacher recommendations.
